Columbus Eagles FC was named the “Social Media Team of the Year” by the WPSL on Friday for the club’s work across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.

The Eagles won six total social media awards, including “Best Team Video Features,” “Best Player Video Features,” “Best Real-Time Game Coverage,” “Best Facebook Page,” and “Best Instagram Page.”

The accolades come after a record-setting year for the club’s social media platforms: Combined since January 1, the Eagles’ social media platforms have earned more than 1.5 million impressions and more than 80,000 video views. The club’s live match broadcasts on EagleTV averaged roughly 1,000 viewers per match.

The club’s social media team consists of Jeff Schaffer (Director of Video), Tayla Davis (Brand Journalist), and Grant Burkhardt (Chief Operating Officer). Julie Jackson, Daniel Herlensky, and Ralph Schudel all contributed their fantastic photography to the club’s social media platforms in 2018. The club would like to extend a thank you to each of them, and to all Eagles fans for following along with us as we promote soccer in Columbus.
