Columbus Eagles FC has designated Otterbein University as its home for the third straight season, the club announced Wednesday. The Eagles will play the majority of their home matches in 2018 at Otterbein’s Memorial Stadium.  Otterbein has been a terrific host to the Eagles since 2016, providing free parking and a wonderful atmosphere for Columbus soccer fans to watch high-level soccer.

In each of the two previous seasons, the Eagles hosted eight home events in the Columbus area. Last season, Columbus earned at least a point in all but one match played at Memorial Stadium en route to a record season. The Eagles set club bests for wins, points, goals scored, and fewest goals conceded. The Eagles have scheduled their preseason home opener on April 14 against Mount Vernon Nazarene University. The club plans to announce its full 2018 schedule on Feb. 15, when the entire WPSL does.

Otterbein also hosted the 2016 WPSL “Final Four,” where the Eagles welcomed the Atlanta Silverbacks, Chicago Red Stars, Boston Breakers, and the San Diego Sea Lions in the national tournament. Boston defeated San Diego 3-0 in the final and were crowned national champions.
