Columbus Eagles FC’s distinct home field advantage returns in 2019: The Eagles will play the majority of their home, outdoor matches (and all of their home WPSL matches) at Otterbein University’s Memorial Stadium.
The university, located in Westerville, Ohio, has been the home of the Eagles since 2016. Over the past two seasons, Columbus is 5-0-2 in WPSL contests at Memorial Stadium, and in 2018 the Eagles conceded just once in four home matches.
At Otterbein, parking is free and tailgating is allowed. The address for Memorial Stadium is 135 Center St, Westerville, OH 43081. Downtown Westerville is just minutes away by foot or car. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops for fans to enjoy before all Eagles matches.
The Eagles’ will release their full 2019 schedule in February, after the annual WPSL meetings take place later this month.
The club set its Otterbein single-match attendance record on June 16, 2018 in a 4-0 win over Empire United (NY). The Eagles designated the match as “Save The Crew Night” in support of the movement to keep the Columbus Crew here in central Ohio where they belong (the movement succeeded, as you’ve heard).
The Eagles are excited to welcome Columbus soccer supporters back to Otterbein for a fourth consecutive season. Flags, musical instruments, and other noisemakers are welcome (and encouraged!), but Otterbein’s policies regarding other supporter props still apply. Smoke, flares, and other pyrotechnics are not allowed on the premises at Otterbein, inside or outside the stadium grounds.
