Virtual Tickets – How they work

As a result of the pandemic, physical attendance at sporting events is extremely limited.  This is tough on minor league sports franchises that rely heavily on paid fan attendance at games to cover their operating expenses.

The Columbus Eagles are no exception.

We are a grass roots organization that needs season ticket and event ticket sales to cover our operating costs.  With the current attendance restrictions in place we are unable to allow fans to attend our games, yet our expenses continue.

The virtual ticket concept is our temporary solution.

We are fortunate to have our EagleTV group that will be live-streaming our matches in 2021.  This will allow our season ticket holders and others to at least view our HOME matches through this service.  There is no pay-wall for EagleTV.  We want everyone to be able to enjoy watching.

How does a Virtual Ticket play into this?

Our Virtual Ticket concept is to bundle additional benefits into your EagleTV viewing experience.  If you purchase a virtual ticket (or are a season membership holder), your e-mail/name will be placed on a list of potential winners of game-day prizes!  Periodically during the broadcast, we will randomly select winners from this list.  We will announce/display the winners name on EagleTV during the match and if the winner texts us within 10 minutes of the announcement, they win!

We are also working with our current sponsors to make special offers to our Virtual Ticket purchasers that would be unique to our fans.  While these benefits may vary from time to time, we are working to provide good value for your money.
