Covad-19 restrictions cancel WPSL 2020 season
It is with sincere regret that the Columbus Eagles FC announces that our 2020 season has been cancelled due to the Covid-19 restrictions currently in place.
Owner and CEO Mark Wise on the cancellation:
“We had hoped that this crisis would have passed and we could have resumed our normal activities by this point. However, this virus and the social restrictions that is has caused just will not let go. Therefore we will begin to plan for our 2021 season and take the necessary steps to preserve the investments our Season Membership holders and our loyal sponsorships have made in the Eagles.”
All season membership holders will have their memberships extended to include the 2021 season. All sponsorships will also be extended to cover the 2021 season.
“This will be a tough time for the Columbus Eagles FC as it is for other small businesses as we navigate unchartered waters here. We will focus our efforts on finding other sources of revenues to offset our expenses until we can once again take the field and represent Columbus in the WPSL”.
The Eagles also want to thank those loyal and caring fans who have purchased merchandise even after the season cancellation in hopes of supporting the club. We really do appreciate our fans. We will get through this TOGETHER as a FAMILY.
